Final 2008 Underwater Cleanup Marks Tenth Anniversary of Keeping Bonaire?s Reefs Clean On Saturday, September 20, 2008, a group of nearly 40 divers, snorkelers, and shore support, representing several countries, gathered together to assist with the final underwater cleanup of 2008, conducted in an area of Bonaire’s anchorage in front of Dive Friends @ Yellow Submarine. The Wounded Warriors Finish their PADI Advanced Open Water Dives On Thursday, the Wounded Warriors packed in three more dives throughout the day, before watching Captain Don’s Habitat “Week in Review” and then enjoying real Tex/Mex food at Papaya Moon Cantina. It?s Mid-Week for the Wounded Warriors on Bonaire With their week on Bonaire passing quickly, the Wounded Warriors have only a few more days to enjoy the island. On Wednesday, they spent the day diving, before enjoying dinner at Patagonia Argentinean Restaurant. The Wounded Warriors Meet Bonaire?s Lt. Governor--Day Three The Wounded Warriors have completed one more busy day on Bonaire. It appears they have taken to diving like fish to water, making three more dives on Tuesday, before meeting Bonaire’s Lt. Governor at a dinner party in their honor at his residence. The Wounded Warriors are Certified--Day Two On Monday, the Wounded Warriors kept to a busy schedule with more open water training dives and social events. The Wounded Warriors on Bonaire--Day One On Sunday morning in the wee hours, the Continental Airlines flight from Newark arrived with some very special guests to the island--the Wounded Warriors (click here to see our previous story). These young men will complete their open water diving certifications this week, as well as tour the island, shop, and enjoy Bonaire’s restaurants.
